Day 2 of Fresh Ubuntu

Getting settled back to the way I was before my ubuntu fresh install. Got amaroK all set up, along with a new FTP and MSN Messenger client. So yeah, all good so far, very few problems (printer doesn’t work, and thanks to Lexmark probably never will) I’ll have forgotten about Windows in no time! Well, apart from iTunes, I already have really forgotten about Windows. I lost some music on that partition, and iTunes is (so far) the only way I can play my purchased and encrypted music… Anyway, new day, new desktop:

At last.     :)

I’ve been talking about it for ages, and I’ve finally done it. Ubuntu is the only OS on my main computer. It was an unexpected transition, and some things were lost, but the important thing is I’ve done it, and it’s looking great.

Decided to mess around with my Ubuntu 6.06 splash screen/start up settings to see if I could get it looking slightly better before the visually stunning 6.10 Edgy Eft comes out next month.

Anyway, what I was doing involved editing menu.lst, and I basically broke everything. My computer started, complained a file was missing, gave me a list of my installed OSes before rebooting when I selected one. (more…)

Was eating the average pack of Skittles (sour) today, and happened to read the ingredients on the back…skittles

Ingredients:
Sugar, Glucose Syrup, Hydrogenated Vegetable Fat, Acids (Citric, Malic, Tartaric), Trisodium Citrate, Modifed Starch, Dextrin, Maltodextrin, Flavourings, Colors, Glazing Agents (Carnauba Wax, Shellac), Vegetable Oil.

What a lovely recipe for obesity and general ill health.

And here’s the nutritional information (per 100g):

Protein: 0.0g
Carbohydrate: 87.4g
Fat: 4.2g
